Manufactured in 1918 and ordered by the US Government for GI training. Features a walnut stock with steel carbine butt plate and swivels. The forearm is nearly full length, has finger groove with one band and a nose cap. Finish is blue. Features a dove tail sight on base, no factory cut for rear barrel sight and sports a Lyman right side mounted receiver peep sight. The upper tang is stamped U.S. with the ordnance bomb. CONDITION: Fine. The barrel retains nearly all of the smooth blue mixing patina finish, sharp two line Winchester barrel address with some age freckling. Receiver is a smooth brown patina. Wood is proud to metal with usual scattered dings & scuffs. The bore is well defined but frosted. Action operates correctly. PROVENANCE: Jim Cyr Collection.
