Manufactured in 1948. This carbine is the scarcest and most desirable of all post war 94 carbines. It is also a "flat band" version used for only a few years. Standard features are the long wood forearm, walnut stock with no flutes, a checkered steel butt plate, an unusual non Winchester rear sight, hooded ramp front sight, blue finish and sporting a Lyman tang sight. Left side of frame has the two peep sight holes that were available as special order at that time. CONDITION: Excellent. The frame retains approximately 50% blue with balance simply drifted to a butter smooth patina. The bolt and loading gate retain majority of finish. The barrel and tube show about 85-90% blue with some handling marks and thinning in spots. The walnut stocks are excellent, proud to metal, with minimal impressions. The bore is strong and still quite bright with light abrasions. PROVENANCE: Jim Cyr Collection.
