Manufactured in 1908. This is a no record gun. It started life as a regular rifle with a round barrel, dovetail on base front sight, filled rear slot, blue finish, Lyman 21 receiver sight. A Winchester deluxe forearm, checkered with ebony inset was added as well as a non Winchester deluxe checkered pistol grip stock with a period horn butt plate. We removed the stock and there are no special order or assembly numbers on the tang and the checkering is courser and not a Winchester pattern on the grip. CONDITION: Excellent. Fine blue on the sides of magazine and blue in protected areas of left side of frame with about 75% on right side. Barrel retains about 90% blending with some patina. Bright blue on bolt. Left side barrel legends are crisp. The stock is excellent and appears vintage and fits well. Forearm has a messed up ebony piece. Action is fine. Bore is well defined with some abrasion. For what it's worth, still a handsome rifle in a scarce caliber. PROVENANCE: Jim Cyr Collection.
