Manufactured in 1950. This is a post war short tang deluxe that features a full round barrel, half magazine, ramp front sight, filled rear slot, blue finish, checkered pistol grip walnut stock with Winchester cap, checkered steel butt plate, sling eyes and matching forearm. The left side of receiver has the Lyman peep sight. It is estimated that Winchester started adding factory side peep sight holes in 1952 but this was a special order option for years before it became standard. CONDITION: Excellent. Receiver retains about 80% bright blue with balance faded grey, mostly showing carry wear near front. The left side Winchester barrel legends are crisp. The barrel and tube retain about 95% blue with some scattered handling. The stock is excellent with sharp checkering showing scattered small dings and impressions. The forearm shows some minor impressions. The bore is sharp but lightly frosted. Slick action. PROVENANCE: Jim Cyr Collection.
