Manufactured in 1879. The Second Model features a thumb print dust cover on a rail secured by two screws. This is also a special order 26" gun with full octagon barrel, full length magazine tube, German silver tip front sight, semi-buckhorn rear sight, blue finish, walnut stock with rifle butt plate, and matching forearm. CONDITION: Good. The receiver has an overall salt and pepper texture with some wiped-on finish. The barrel and tube are a blue brown patina with wiped-on finish over salt and pepper texture with strong Winchester two line barrel legend. The stock is slightly shy to metal, refinished, with some scattered dings. The forearm is dished like those found having rode over a saddle pommel for years with a sliver of wood missing on left side front at barrel. The bore is defined but dull with some abrasions. Has that well-worn Wild West cowboy look. PROVENANCE: Jim Cyr Collection.
