Manufactured in 1896. Fitted with a heavy weight blued octagon barrel with full length magazine tube, modified combination front sight, and unusual heavy buck horn rear. Case hardened receiver with close coupled set triggers. Classic 2-piece walnut stocks with crescent rifle butt plate. CONDITION: Very good. Barrel retains the majority of its factory blue, mostly faded to plum with high edge wear. Magazine tube retains 95% blue with some wear towards the muzzle and is likely a replacement. Receiver exhibits case hardened patterning, especially on the left side with spotting throughout. Stocks have an added coat of finish with dings and nicks, as well as some chipping at the toe. Defined bore with abrasions. Set trigger in need of adjustment. Hammer follows when the action is worked. PROVENANCE: Jim Cyr Collection.
