In 1970, Colt produced a run of Pacific Theater commemorative 1911-A1 pistols housed in a special bamboo style display case. Approximately 9886 made. They also made a similar series for the European theater. This example features the full nickel finish etched with Pacific Theater engagements beginning with Pearl Harbor. The right side of slide is etched "WORLD WAR II COMMEMORATIVE-PACIFIC THEATER OF OPERATIONS", surrounded by light scroll. Grips are smooth walnut with gold medallions. Comes with display case, faux ammo and plaque. CONDITION: Shows as new with light handling. PROVENANCE: Jim Cyr Collection.
