Manufactured 1928. This is a possibly unique special order. It falls into the no record era but appears to be 100% factory correct and in a combination that we have never seen nor heard. It features a lightweight 22" barrel with the base and pinned blade front sight with a standard 20" carbine tube magazine. It is fitted with the standard rear barrel band, but the front barrel tube retainer is as those found on small caliber 1892 carbines. The balance of the gun is a standard 94 carbine with a ladder rear sight, blue finish, walnut stock with steel carbine butt plate, and saddle ring and stud. There is an extra filled tap hole that appears factory near the barrel breech back of ladder sight, obviously for some type of sight but no signs that there was ever another rear sight in that spot. CONDITION: Excellent. The receiver retains about 40% towards the rear on both sides with balance a nice soft grey patina. The barrel and tube retain at least 80-85% blue that is thinning in areas. Barrel has left side Winchester legend. Stocks are flush showing just some normal dings & impressions. Action is fine. Bore is bright. An extremely crisp and unique carbine. PROVENANCE: Jim Cyr Collection.
