In 1967, Colt produced a mere 300 matched sets to commemorate the Battle of the Alamo (February 23-March 6, 1836) They include a second generation SAA .45 and a Frontier Scout .22. Both wear the identical finish which consists of deep blue finish with gold plated non fluted cylinder, hammer, trigger guard, back strap, ejector head, cylinder pin and screws. The grips are faux ivory with a gold star applique on left grip panel and gold Colt medallions. The left side of both barrels reads, in gold, ALAMO MODEL. The left side of the frame has Colt pony with three line patent dates on the SAA. The tops of barrels have one line Colt legend as well as on the right side being the model legends. The serial numbers are not sequential. This pair is housed in a special wood case with battle scene on lid. CONDITION. Both guns show as new with light handling. PROVENANCE: Jim Cyr Collection.
