Manufactured under license for an initial police contract of 30,000 Nagant pattern gas seal revolvers, only approximately 20,000 are believed to have been produced from 1931 to 1937. This early example was manufactured in 1932 and is finished in standard rust blue with nitre blue small parts. Of classic form with a half moon blade front sight, v-notch rear, 7-shot cylinder, checkered wood grip panels, and a lanyard loop. No import markings are visible. Externally visible numbers are matching. CONDITION: Very good. The vast majority of the arsenal blue is retained throughout with some muzzle and high edge wear, as well as some scattered oxidation spots. Significant portions of fading nitre blue are also observed on small parts. Grips have some moderate wear but rate very good. Well defined rifling with some frosting. Crisp mechanics.
