Manufactured in 1887. Fitted with a blued octagon barrel with aftermarket tall gold bead blade front sight and "1886" marked 1000 yard graduated ladder rear. Standard 2-piece straight grain walnut stocks with crescent rifle butt plate. CONDITION: Very good. Barrel and magazine tube retain portions of factory blue in protected areas. The balance fading to a plum gray patina. Frame has characteristic silvery patina with a few minor traces of case hardened patterning visible on the lever. Stocks have scattered dings and abrasions throughout, forend appearing lightly cleaned. Well defined bore with heavy frosting in the grooves. Fine mechanics. A nice, honest 2nd year 1886.
