According to Madis, only 1,277 of 5,717 Model 65s produced between 1943 and 1945 were chambered in .32-20. This example is fitted with a standard 22" blued Winchester Proof Steel barrel with ramped front sight and sporting rear. Plain walnut forend and pistol grip stock with added composition grip cap and ill fitting checkered steel widows peak butt plate. CONDITION: Very good. The vast majority of the factory blue is retained throughout with some thinning and mild wear, especially on the nose cap and underside of the muzzle. Butt plate has been wiped with added finish and appears to be a replacement likely having once been fitted with a pad, the length of pull slightly shortened. Stocks are otherwise very fine with a few light marks. Very fine bright bore with sharp rifling. Fine mechanics. A scarce rifle. PROVENANCE: Jim Cyr Collection
