Manufactured in the 1940s with full blued finish, carbine length Winchester proof steel barrel, hooded ramped blade front sight, and sporting rear. Full length magazine retained by 2 barrel bands, the first of the flat style fitted to carbines circa 1943 to 1948. Carbine forend and plain walnut stock with checkered steel butt plate. CONDITION: Good. Barrel and magazine tube retain approximately 95% original blue. Receiver also retains the majority of its faded factory blue with carry wear fading to patina. Forend has scattered nicks and impressions, fit somewhat crudely, a possible period replacement. Stock has scattered dings, but rates very good overall. Very good, bright bore with strong, well defined rifling throughout. Mechanics are very good but a little sticky. PROVENANCE: Jim Cyr Collection.
