Manufactured in 1887. Factory blued octagon barrel shortened to 23" with custom German silver blade front sight and aperture rear sight mounted to the dust cover rail, the rear dovetail filled in. Elevator marked "22 CAL / SHORT". Stocked in walnut with a crescent rifle butt plate. CONDITION: Very good. Rifle retains significant portions of fading factory blue, drifting to plum patina with high edge wear and freckling. Elevator displays a mottled mellow patina with legible markings. Stocks have darkened with age and have some some scattered scuffs and impressions, rating very good. Dark bore with visible rifling. Internals appear worn with dings and nicks, the rifle still cycles correctly. PROVENANCE: Jim Cyr Collection.
