Manufactured in 1892 during the first year of production according to Madis. Blued octagon barrel marked at the breech with a post 1905 "PW" proof, the proof also present on the receiver likely indicating a factory re-barrel. Lyman blade front sight and Lyman folding tang sight, the rear sight dovetail filled in with a blank. 2-piece plain walnut stock with crescent rifle butt plate. CONDITION: Fine as factory reworked. Barrel and magazine tube retain approximately 95% factory blue with some thinning and high edge wear. Receiver retains significant portions of fading factory blue, the balance turning to patina. Forend fits proudly with some bumps and bruises. Stock has been cleaned with impressions throughout. Bore is bright and shiny with crisp well defined rifling and a few imperfections. Fine mechanics. PROVENANCE: Jim Cyr Collection.
