Nice representative display of a late Indian Wars to Spanish American War Cavalry trooper's saddle, sword, and carbine. Trapdoor carbine was manufactured circa 1880. Classic configuration with blade front sight, "C" marked carbine rear, "1873" stamped low arch breech, 3 click tumbler, 1-piece carbine stock, saddle ring, and tool trap buttplate. Butt stamped on the right with a "B / 20" rack/unit marking. Complete with tools and 1910 dated Rock island Arsenal boot. Sword is a standard M1860 dated 1862 on the ricasso and maker stamped for Mansfield & Lamb. CONDITION: Very good overall. Carbine finish has faded to an honest gray with some cleaned, older oxidation spotting. Stocks are very good as cleaned with scattered impressions. Strong, frosted bore. Crisp mechanics. PROVENANCE: Jim Cyr Collection.
