There is plenty of coverage on the Schrade Cutlery Company 1904-1946 of Walden, New York, on pages 116-130 of "Antique American Switchblades". Listed as the 4 1/4" single blade, Model G1544 on page 128. This lot consists of one Buttermilk celluloid handle with two shades of red handle. All blades are stamped SCHRADE. All have guards with left side locks. Two open and lock correctly, the dark red version opens but does not lock in place (weak spring). All have nickel silver bolsters and guards with steel liners: CONDITION: Very Good. No cracks or chips on handles. The blade on dark red example shows sharpening. PROVENANCE: From a single consignor life long collection. A great many of these knives were obtained from Mark Erikson and many are pictured in his book "Antique American Switchblades" published in 2004.
