There is plenty of coverage on the Schrade Cutlery Company 1904-1946 of Walden, New York, on pages 116-130 of "Antique American Switchblades". These four knives are listed on page 120 as the 3 3/8" doubles. Model 744. All have Schrade Cut. Co on large blade with patent dates ending in June 6 '16 on small blades. All have double blades and each blade has it's own release button and lock. One has brown stagged handles, the others are celluloid. Only one of the eight blades opens but does not lock (weak spring) CONDITION: Very good to Excellent. All of the handles are chip and crack free. Three of the four knives show degrees of sharpening, one does not. The yellow / brown is the best example. PROVENANCE: From a single consignor life long collection. A great many of these knives were obtained from Mark Erikson and many are pictured in his book "Antique American Switchblades" published in 2004.
