Developed as a competitor to the M16 in the late 1960s, very few AR-70s were imported into the US in the 1980s. Features include a matte black enamel finish, 18" barrel, post front sight, flip-up rear aperture sight, integral scope mounts on the receiver, paddle magazine release lever, ribbed black polymer forend and pistol grip, matte black fixed position buttstock. Matching numbers are present on the left side of the upper and lower assemblies. CONDITION: Excellent. Metal components retain virtually all of their original factory applied black enamel finish, with a few and minor superficial marks from handling and storage. Black polymer furniture is excellent with minor marks from handling and storage. Mirror bore with well defined lands and grooves throughout.
