Manufactured in England for export in 1863 in classic configuration throughout. Confederate marked with "Q" repair and cleaned marking forward of trigger guard tang. Buttplate is stamped with 2505 in single block letters, possibly a rack or collection number. Full length ramrod is engraved with 5310, possibly a Confederate marking to a rifle musket with number 5310 on buttplate tang. CONDITION: Fair, with iron assemblies turned a dark brown patina with significant wear near breech from use. Stock is good with scattered heavy handling marks. Mechanically fine. Bore is dark with well defined rifling.
