Of standard configuration. Round barrel marked "US" on top of breech and "P/ Eagle Head / V" on left side. Lock dated "1811" at tail and has script "US" above eagle and "SPRINGFIELD" in an arc. Standard iron furniture. buttplate tang dated 1812. Walnut stock with several carved initials on both sides of buttstock. CONDITION: Barrel retains a grey patina, markings clear. Lock is in its original flintlock configuration and functions well; some light pitting and wear. Mounts retain a freckled brown patina. Stock shows scattered cracks, chips and wear. A very nice War of 1812 example.
