DSP. A rare and desirable C. 1930's double sided porcelain sign from Hood Tires featuring bright gloss and the iconic Flag Man graphic. CONDITION: Side 1 shows good color and gloss in the field. There are a handful of areas of discoloration in the bottom half of the sign. There is also porcelain loss- most notably to the left of "Hood" and in the top right corner of the sign. The outer edges and mounting holes both show porcelain chipping and loss (7.0). Side 2 remains in similar shape with brown areas of discoloration in the white sections of the field. There are porcelain chips scattered around the field- the worst of which is in the top 50% of the sign. The outer edges and mounting holes show porcelain chipping and wear as well (7.0). A desirable and unusual piece of early Hood advertising.
