It is uncertain why this fine World War II M1 was never stamped with manufacture marking or serial number, possibly a lunch box gun, experimental rifle, or presentation of some sort. Receiver marked internally with December 1940 to June 1945 Winchester draw number. Winchester "WP" proofed barrel with protected blade front sight and locking bar rear. WWII correct internals including "D28287-1W.R.A." bolt, "D35382W.R.A." unrelieved op rod, "D28290W.R.A." trigger housing, "C 46025W.R.A." milled trigger guard, "C46015-4 W.R.A." safety, and "C46008-1W.R.A." hammer. Military pattern walnut stocks without martial inspection or proof marks. CONDITION: Excellent. Rifle retains nearly all of its factory finishes with some mild high edge silvering. Stocks are likewise fine with only light, scattered impressions and handling marks. Bore has razor sharp rifling with some abrasion in the grooves. ME of 1. TE of 1. Fine mechanics. A fantastic WWII correct and highly unusual Winchester M1 Garand.
