Manufactured by the Burnside Rifle Co. of Providence RI. from 1857-1865 in five distinct variations. This is a 5th Model of which were made from 1863-1865. The Burnside legend is found at breech and on the side plate with matching serial numbers. Features a walnut stock with metal butt plate and swivel, matching forearm, a saddle bar with ring, round barrel and folding ladder rear sight. CONDITION: Very good. All metal is a dark patina with overall age freckling. Wood is excellent with scattered dings and small abrasions. All legends are crisp. Action works correctly. Rifling is sharp but does have some abrasions. PROVENANCE: Jim Cyr Collection.
