Manufactured in 1908. The barrel is a post one million serial number type, indicating later replacement. The half magazine has the retaining band used on the Model 64. The tapered lightweight barrel has a ramp front sight. In addition, the walnut forearm flares a bit like the 64 and there is no P in a circle, indicating that the barrel was not purchased by itself. When you examine the PW stamp on frame, it is a bit washed out. All this indicates that this gun was shipped back to the factory, probably in the 1930s and was basically updated to a Model 64 and was factory refinished at that time. The rear sight is a standard buckhorn and there is a Lyman tang sight as well. It is a solid frame with blue finish and with walnut stock with rifle buttplate. CONDITION: Fine as factory rebuilt and refinished. The receiver still retains approximately 70% blue with balance silvered out. The barrel retains 85-90% blue that shows some thinning. The tube is as least 95%. The stock is still proud and does have some dings and impressions with a few impressions on forearm as well. The bore is bright and the action is crisp. PROVENANCE: Jim Cyr Collection.
