Manufactured in 1937. Has the early checkered hammer spur with smooth trigger. Tang is factory drilled for tang sight with no tang markings, which is correct. The muzzle has post-1935 rounded crown along with pre-1939 Type 1 barrel legend. Rifle sports the 32B rear sight and the 75C front sight. Walnut butt stock has the pre-war profile with the post-1935 Winchester gutta perch black butt plate. The forearm is the early 6", 10-groove Type 1 style. Standard blue finish, takedown, 2/3rds magazine. CONDITION: Very good. Rifle retains at least 98% of the reapplied blue finish and retains strong barrel legends. The stocks are excellent, proud to metal, with scattered dings and impressions. Action is fine. Bore is bright. PROVENANCE: Jim Cyr Collection.
