Large lock back high art folder crafted by Joe Kious, the long-time Knifemakers' Guild member who passed away in 2014 and who is best known for his ornate custom folding knives. This example of his work features a 5" blade crafted of hand rubbed satin finished ATS-34 and is marked JOE KIOUS / KERRVILLE, TX.". The frame exhibits deep relief carved 416 stainless steel engraved with 24Kt gold, silver, and copper inlays which feature scenes depicting Jack the Ripper and one of his victims. Each side features a secret compartment which slides open to display more engraved scenes. The engraving was executed by Jon Robin. Lockback mechanism functions properly. Light handling marks.
