4 - 1/4" Length. Model number C8309PL. Very little catalog information about these “C series” baits exists, but somewhat recently it was learned that these made their debut in a 1932/33 Heddon catalog supplement and were described as “lures for steel head, salmon, and striped bass.” Also described as having a gumwood body, extra heavy trebles and fastener, and being slightly longer than a “regular” 8300. Original price on this great bait was $1.25. You’d be hard-pressed to ever be able to upgrade this one, with its flawless glass eyes and well-preserved finish. With only some light age lines, this rarity grades Excellent-, or perhaps slightly higher.
