Manufactured in 1928. This rare little carbine features the lightweight pencil barrel with base and dovetailed front sight. It only has the rear barrel band, while the front is a rifle-style hanger, as seen on small caliber 92 carbines. Also features the saddle ring and stud, folding ladder rear sight (there is a small screw in front of this sight, probably for a different rear sight), and walnut stock with carbine butt plate and matching long wood forearm. This type of lightweight carbine is among the rarest offerings. CONDITION: Fine. Receiver is grey patina with strong blue on loading gate. Barrel is a thin blue /grey patina mix with strong Winchester barrel legend. Tube has some dents and age spotting. Wood is proud with scattered dings and impressions. Action is crisp. Bore is strong and lightly frosted. PROVENANCE: Jim Cyr Collection.
