Large lock back high art folder crafted by Joe Kious, the long-time Knifemakers' Guild member who passed away in 2014 and who is best known for his ornate custom folding knives. This example is Kious' "Make America Great Again" double pocket locket auto knife that features engravings of Donald Trump and commemorate his seat as the 45th President of the United States. The knife features a Jerry Rados "Turkish Twist" Damascus blade That is marked "KIOUS" on the side of the ricasso. The frame is constructed of 416 stainless steel with 24K gold, copper, and silver inlays. The frame is highlighted by ornate engravings by Jon Robyn which feature scenes depicting Donald Trump and presidential motifs. Each side features concealed pocket lockets which slide open to display more engraved scenes on 14K gold inserts. The engravings surround amber scales that are inlaid on the cover of the pocket lockets. The lockback locking mechanism functions properly and the spring is strong. Housed in a black plush zipper case. Light handling wear throughout. CONDITION: Excellent. PROVENANCE: From the collection of Frank Brownell.
