December 9, 2024 Fishing Lure
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/9/2024
2" Length. Shown in Dr. Smith’s blue Creek Chub book on page 200 in the “Prototypes” section, these are described as a “modification of the Cray-Z-Fish that was tested but never marketed”. Collectors have since learned that this rare bait was in fact sold by an outfit called “Ed Lasek’s Tackle Box Baits. He called his namesake lure the Honey Bee and sold it for $1.35. Boxes have been found and the graphics suggest a late 1950s – early 1960s production era. Ed Lasek operated out of 1319 Locust Drive in Columbus, Indiana. The example here is in excellent condition with it’s great black & yellow bug pattern, red bead eyes, Cray-Z-Fish lip, and all 4 rubber legs still intact.
Item Dimensions: 2" Length.
