Manufactured in Austria by Steyr. This is the first of a long series of sporting rifles. This model was only offered in one caliber. This rifle features the walnut half stock with hand carved forend tip, pistol grip with cap, hand-cut checkering, straight comb with roll over cheek piece, steel buttplate with bullet trap, single trigger, butter knife bolt handle, ramp front sight, and single leaf rear. The bridge has the Mannlicher Schoenauer legend with numerous British proofs on left barrel breech. The floor plate is engraved "Shot and regulated by Cogswell & Harrison 168 Piccadilly, London" CONDITION: Excellent. Metal retains at least 98% blue with touch of muzzle and high edge wear on barrel. Sharp legends. Excellent stocks with nominal impressions. Action is smooth and the bore is bright. Steller London retailer marked rifle.
