Lot consists of: (A) US WWII 48 star flag with identification tag that reads "NOV. 8, 1942- Flag carried by 2d Battalion. 19th Engineer Combat Regiment- "Torch" - Invasion of North Africa-near Arzew, Algeria - Maj. Henry K. Kellogg Commanding 2d Bn." Flag measures approximately 68" x 36" and is constructed of wool bunting. Hoist is stamped "2YD AMERICA". Stitching is tight with scattered light blemishes and holes. (B) 8mm Lebel cartridge with accompanying note that identifies it was used to kill an American soldier in Italy and was used as evidence in a court martial. Note was recorded by Henry K. Kellogg. (C) Ball bearing with accompanying tag that states it was recovered from a destroyed "German Mark IV-Tiger" in Northern Tunisia on April 19, 1943. CONDITION: Good.
