This is a near perfect rendition of the famous pre-World War I 1911. Actual guns shipped to the Marine Corps circa 1912-1917 were simply stamped Army, never stamped Marine Corps. Standard blue finish, long smooth trigger, flat mainspring housing with lanyard, diamond checkered walnut grips, checkered slide stop and safety, checkered wide spur hammer, and round edge u-notch rear sight. Right side of slide is stamped "MODEL OF 1911 U.S. MARINE CORPS". Left side of slide has the Colt patent legend ending in Feb. 14, 1911. Rear slide markings are those of Turnbull in place of Colt, including replacing the Rampant Colt with his Turning Bull logo. Left side of frame reads "UNITED STATES PROPERTY". CONDITION: Excellent. Shows as near new.
