This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 4/1/2011
Circa late 1700s - 1800s. A finely detailed carved ivory head with inset pupil-less glass eyes, well caved nose, smiling mouth, and antique brown human hair wig parted in the center. Head is mounted to an all-articulated wooden body with joints at the shoulders, elbows, hips, and knees. Covering the body is a very light and worn coat of pale blue milk paint. The wood in the lower arms and legs is different than the rest of the wooden body and feels somewhat lighter in weight. Costumed in an antique dress of floral brocade and gold silk in the Queen Anne style. There appears to be overall restoration to lower arms and lower legs. Typical age lines in ivory as shown in picture.
Condition: (Very Good).
Item Dimensions: 24" T.
