Dual rifle barrels over a single shotgun barrel, fit with a solid rib with machine cut matting, a fluorescent optic front sight on raised island, and a square notch rear sight with three pieces of fiber optic, which provide an additional sighting index, and turn-off scope mount on raised section of rib. Right barrel engraved "961L 20 GA 9,3x74R", left side with Merkel information. Underside of barrels with German Nitro proofs for a pair of 9.3x74R rifle barrels on top of a 3" chambered 20 gauge with 1/2 choke (approx. Modified) at a nominal 16 IBD, with Suhl "pick-and-sole" shield. Schanbel tipped forearm with Deely latch release, checkered in point pattern about the release with geometrics and light florals engraved on exterior iron. Interior iron with partial matching serial, 5097. Boxlock action engraved with an elk bugling in a wooded scene on left, and a boar in the brush on right. Left scene signed at rear "FP" for Felix Pabst, a factory engraver for Merkel. Other features include Kersten bolt, disc set strikers, double triggers (front set) protected by a short tang trigger guard, and non-automatic safety with "S" encircled ahead of slide. Straight grained stock with some light fiddlebacking is constructed with sidepanels, point pattern checkering about the wrist, a composite grip cap, shadowline cheekpiece, and Schoftkappe black recoil pad. Sling bows on bosses, one sweated to shotgun barrel and other at toe line. Accompanied by the Merkel box which correctly identifies this gun by serial number and lists features. CONDITION: Excellent, NOS or equivalent, with some minor handling marks; worst offense an abraded head in left checkering panel. Mechanically fine, bores excellent. Box fine.
