Shoe lump barrels with brass bead front sight on a solid matte rib, engraved over right chamber with model and caliber designation, left side with GSI importer information. Underside of barrels with modern German nitro proofs for a 12 gauge with 3" chambers, a nominal 18.6 IBD, and the Suhl "pick-and-sole" shield. Breeches with small sprig of acanthus, Kersten lock, and gently relieved for sideclips. Flat bottom foream with a Deely latch release, checkered in point pattern about the release, engraved with geometrics and gentle floral scroll on exterior iron, interior with matching serial number. Scalloped back boxlock action engraved with game scenes of pheasants on left in a meadow scene, right with a scene of ringnecks, supported by beaded geometrics and light acanthus scroll; signed "SP" in a ribbon near left side hinge pin for factory engraved Suzanne Patheo. Brass tip cocking indicators, sideclips, disc set strikers, automatic safety with "S" encircled ahead of slide, and single trigger with short trigger tang and selector mounted to shoe. "EL" inlaid on lever. Walnut stock with sidepanels, two panels of point pattern checkering about the wrist, composite grip cap, and a Merkel hard rubber buttplate. In the original Merkel box with end label correctly identifying this gun by serial number. CONDITION: Excellent, NOS or equivalent, with some very minor handling marks scattered throughout the all original finishes to wood and metal. Mechanically fine, bores are bright and shiny with some light evidence of firing residue, probably from proof. Ejectors strong but out of time, right fires first. Box fine.
