Platform lump barrels with brass bead front sight on a solid tapering matte rib. Left side of barrels with GSI information, right with model, caliber, and steel designation. Barrel flats with German nitro proofs for a 20 gauge with 3" chambers, a nominal 16.0 IBD, and the Suhl pick-and-sole shield. Built with ejectors, gently relieved for sideclips, and lightly engraved with acanthus scroll at breeches and on rib extension. Splinter forearm with flat bottom is fit with a Deely latch release, checkered in point pattern about the latch, with light geometrics and floral scroll on exterior iron. Interior iron with matching serial number. Scalloped back boxlock action engraved with a pair of hare running through a meadow, right side with partridge in a meadow scene, pecking around a fence, with supporting geometrics and light scroll; signed "DG" on left side of hare vignette for Doreen Grill. Single trigger with selector mounted to shoe protected by a trigger guard with mid-length tang, automatic safety with encircled "S" ahead of slide, and brass tipped cocking indicators. Walnut stock with sidepanels, two panels of point pattern checkering about the wrist, composite pistol grip cap, flute nose comb, and Merkel hard rubber buttplate. Accompanied by the original Merkel box with end label identifying this gun by serial number. CONDITION: Excellent. NOS or equivalent, with some very minor handling marks scattered throughout the all original finishes to wood and metal. Mechanically fine, bores are bright and shiny with some light evidence of firing residue, probably from proof. Ejectors soft but in time. Box is fine.
