Manufactured in 1851 in standard configuration throughout. Dated 1851 on lock and barrel tang near breech. Barrel is US property marked and is proofed. Left flat of stock opposite lock is marked with two inspector cartouches. CONDITION: Excellent, as carefully polished back to National Armory Bright, with scattered light freckling and evidence of significant firing near breech. Stock has been lightly sanded and refinished with small crack near lock retaining screws, large chip near lower side of lock, and burnout on both sides breech tang. Mechanically fine, with two crisp stops at half and full cock. Bore is dark.
