These rifles were made by the Massachussets Arms Company in Chicopee. This example appears to have been period altered to a carbine configuration with shortened barrel, shortened stock, added lanyard ring, 1861 Springfield type rear sight, and under barrel nipple and hammer. Gun has the Greene legend on tang, only partially visible. Alterations appear to be of the period. CONDITION: Very good. Stock is excellent with usual light dings and impressions. All metal is a smooth patina. Bore is very dirty with abrasions. Working order.
