This is a recreation of the first 500 Colt-built US Navy 1911 pistols. It features the early style high polish blue frame, nitre blue small parts and screws, diamond checkered walnut stocks, two high polish blue lanyard loop magazine, flat main spring housing, checkered wide spur hammer, checkered slide stop and safety, long smooth trigger, and Type 1 round U-notch rear sight. Left side of slide has the early Colt patent date legend ending in Feb 14, 1911 with "CYLINDER & SLIDE INC, FREEMONT NE, USA" in place of the original Colt address. Left side of frame is stamped "UNITED STATES PROPERTY". Right side of slide is stamped "MODEL OF 1911 U.S. NAVY" with serial number on frame. Barrel is high polish blue with no HP. CONDITION: Excellent. The finish and polish and simply stunning. Gun shows as new with light handling marks.
