This custom built gun was made in Fremont, Nebraska. This is a recreation of the first 500 Colt built US ARMY 1911 .45 pistols. It features the early style high polish blue frame, nitre blue small parts and screws, diamond checkered walnut stocks, two high polish blue lanyard loop magazines, flat main spring housing, checkered wide spur hammer, checkered slide stop and safety, long smooth trigger and type 1 round U-notch rear sight. Left side of slide has the early Colt patent date legend ending in Feb 14, 1911 with CYLINDER & SLIDE INC, FREEMONT NE , USA in place of the original Colt address. Left side of frame is stamped UNITED STATES PROPERTY. Right side of slide is stamped MODEL OF 1911 U.S.ARMY with serial number on frame. Barrel is high polish blue with no HP. There is an inspector stamp on left side of frame exactly where an original would be. CONDITION: Excellent. The finish and polish is flawless and simply stunning.
