These were manufactured circa 1863-64. This is a standard issue with nearly full-length American walnut forearm and stock, three barrel bands, post front sight with German silver blade, 700-yard folding ladder rear sight, swivels, metal butt plate with loading tube, blue and case color finish. Receiver bridge has the Spencer 1860 patent legend. No visible cartouche on stock. CONDITION: Very good. The frame retains the majority of reapplied blue-brown finish with scattered salt and pepper under the finish. Barrel retains most of its reapplied blue blending patina finish. Top of stock has four kill notches, has added finish and overall scattered dings and abrasions. Still shows some nice peacock blue on retained springs. Rifling is strong but has abrasions.
