Only 2020 of this model were made from 1837-40 at the Harper's Ferry Armory. These carbines saw hard use by the 2nd U.S. Dragoons during the Seminole Wars in Florida. The breech block on this gun is dated 1839 and stamped J H Hall & US. This gun has the two barrel bands but is missing the bayonet. There is a hole bored through the hammer. Metal is finished in the white. Walnut stock is nearly full length. The .64 diameter bore is not rifled. No visible wood cartouche stamps. CONDITION: Very good. Metal shows overall age freckling. Wood has several areas of dings and impressions but is very solid with note to a repair at upper tang. Fine working order. Bore is fairly clean.
