This example is dated 1858 on lock with US SPRINGFIELD and eagle. The Maynard priming cover is also stamped with an eagle. All metal is finished in the white and features three barrel bands, a brass forearm tip, steel US butt plate stamped 43, swivels, blue military rear sight (as usually seen on Harper Ferry models). No visible cartouche stamps on stock which has been lightly cleaned. CONDITION: Fine. The white metal is clean with some scattered handling marks. The sight is more modern and retains all its blued and was added. The stock is excellent as cleaned with scattered abrasions. The bore is well defined with some abrasion.
