Octagon to round barrel, single barrel band, replaced blade front sight, short folding ladder rear sight, upper locking bar, saddle ring and bar, walnut stock, carbine butt plate, and matching forearm. Strong patent legends on left side of frame. CONDITION: Very good. Case colors have tinned out. Barrel is soft brown patina. Stock is very good with assorted dings. Forearm commensurate. Rifled bore is bright. One of the most popular carbines of the Civil War.
