Barrel is stamped "L. BUTTERFIELD LYNN MS" for Levi Butterfield, who operated out of Lynn, Massachussets, from 1855-1871. The back action lock is lightly engraved and stamped "ASHMORE" for maker of lock. Features a full round barrel, walnut half stock, brass butt plate and trigger guard, German silver fore-end tip, and wood rod. The front sight is miniscule. Silver ID plate at wrist. CONDITION: Very good. There is a 5 - 1/2" hairline on right side near nipple, otherwise, just some scattered small dings. Iron is a smooth brown patina with pitting at breech near nipple. Action is working. Bore is dark.
