This carbine was made by Simeon North in Middletown, Connecticut and is so stamped. It is a variation of a Type 2 due to the ring bar. Total production was 6500 in three variations. Standard features include brown lacquer metal finish, case color breech, two barrel bands, long left side sling bar with ring, button metal ramrod, wind drift rear sight, and walnut stock. Right side of barrel has the JCB inspector stamp for Joseph Bragg but no such stamp can be found on stock. CONDITION: Excellent. Wood is superb with a few minor dings but no cartouche stamps visible. Metal retains majority of the smooth rich brown finish. The case color breech has darkened. The bore is extremely clean.
