Breech block is dated 1851 and stamped "S. North Midl'ton CONN". This percussion carbine features the long bar with ring on left side, lever on right side, two barrel bands, ramrod, post front sight, small wind drift rear sight, walnut stock with visible but illegible cartouche stamps on both sides at wrist, metal butt plate, nearly full length forearm, browned finish with case color breech. This example has the rifled bore for use in the Civil War, one of approximately 5000 weapons converted by W.W. Marston. CONDITION. Fine. Case colors have darkened. Retains majority of smooth brown finish with minor handling marks and thinning on trigger guard. Stock is excellent with minor impressions and small stippled design on left side. Bore is sharp with minor abrasions.
