Manufactured in 1860 prior to the opening shots of the Civil War. Blued 6" octagon barrel with 2-line Hartford address and brass pin front sight. 5-shot percussion cylinder rolled with a largely legible stagecoach holdup scene. Silver plated grip straps set with attractive 1-piece flute carved bone grips. Matching numbers observed throughout excluding the grips. CONDITION: Very Good. Traces of factory blue are retained in the protected areas of the barrel, the balance fading to a soft gray with some freckling. Frame has largely faded to gray with some faded case color patterning. Portions of silver plating are retained, the majority thinned to a mottled mellow patina. The grips exhibit an exceedingly attractive warm honey patina with a few darkened areas. Well defined bore with cleaned abrasion throughout. Crisp mechanics.
